Hirsch was held yesterday afternoon and evening at their pretty home on Albany street. Flowers, palms and simlax tastefully decorated the rooms and tea and coffee were served by Miss Moss and Miss Badger at a pretty side table lighted by an orange-shaded banquet lamp. Mr. and Mrs. Hirsch received both afternoon and evening. The bride, who was a well-known and popular young society woman of Palmyra, wore her wedding gown of pearl-covered silk with white chiffon trimmings and white gloves. Mrs. F. B. Voght, Miss Hirsch and Miss Ida Hirsch assisted. Among the out-of-town guests were Miss Corning and Miss Hop of Palmyra and Mrs. Dorrow of Rochester. | |

23 | ![]() | Death notice of Catherine Hirsch (Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, 11 Apr 1873, page 4) Sudden Death. Mrs. George Hirsch died very suddenly last evening of heart disease. She left her residence at a few minutes of 6 o'clock to accompany her sister to the Central depot, the latter intending to take the train west for Buffalo after a visit to her relatives here. They went by way of Main street as Andrews street was impassible and as they did not like to cross the railroad bridge. The circuitous route gave them but little time to reach the train and they walked very fast. Mrs. Hirsch, who was a very fleshy woman seemed exhausted when they reached the depot and when she parted from her sister was unable to speak. She called for a hack and being assisted into it by the driver was driven home. When the vehicle reached the residence, Mrs. Hirsch was found unconscious. After carrying her up stairs, her friends found that a slight beating of the heart was all that denoted she was still alive. Drs. Hirsch and Mr. John Daniels were united in marriage at their new home in Marilla. The Rev. Mr. Moss of the Hampshire Street Methodist Episcopal Church, Buffalo, performed the ceremony in the presence of half a hundred relatives and friends of the bride and groom. There were no attendants. The bride wore an Empire gown of grey crepe de chine, and she carried bride roses. The house was beautifully decorated with spring flowers and ferns, and the supper tables were laid in green and white. A mandolin and guitar club of which the bride is a member played the wedding march and furnished the music during the informal reception by which the ceremony was followed. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock at the Snover Funeral Home with the Rev. George Lockett, pastor of the Central Baptist Church, Palmyra, officiating. Interment was made in Morgan Cemetery. Mr. Hirsch is survived by his widow, Mrs. Caroline Hirsch, and two daughters, Miss Martha Hirsch and Miss Katherine Hirsch. Vogt [sic] Dr. Frank Bonnell Vogt, 83, of 908 Fillmore Ave., East Side physician for more than 60 years, died at 7:30 o'clock last evening in Deaconess Hospital. He had been ill for four weeks. A native of Lockport, Dr. Vogt was born May 19, 1866. He was graduated from Niagara University and from the University of Buffalo Medical School in 1889. He set up in practice first at 502 Sycamore St., and then later moved successively to 1088 Genesee St. and 926 Fillmore Ave. For the last 46 years he had been located at 908 Fillmore. His wife, the former Anna Hirsch, died in 1938. The only survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Jules Zinter of Indianapolis, Ind. Services will be at 1:30 p. m. Ida, Jacob Bonnell, aged about fifty years. The cause of his death was a cancer which made its appearance on his neck about six months ago, and from which he has suffered intensely during the past few weeks. Mr. Bonnell was an old resident of Mt. Ida and was a well-to-do farmer. He has had property in Dakota which has called him there frequently. 46 | ![]() | Obituary of Sarah Wright (Syracuse Daily Journal, 20 May 1897, page 6) Mrs. Judson J. Wright died at her home, 409 Schuyler st, Wednesday morning, after an illness of five months. Mrs. Wright was born in the town of Victory, Cayuga county, in August, 1812. She was a charter and prominent member of the Geddes Congregational church, and was a member of the old wooden First Presbyterian church, which stood on the present site of McCarthy's retail store. She was a nurse for a number of years, and had cared for the members of many prominent families, notably the Geres, Porters and Beldens. Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband, Judson J., a son, Willis J., and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Wilkie, and a brother, Franklin Grant, of Erie St., all of this city. | |

Miss Frances Wilkie, as her sister's maid of honor, wore champagne crepe de chine with sapphire blue velvet and corsage bouquet of safrano roses. Frederick W. Winkler was best man and the bride's niece, Miss Frances E. Wilkie, was flower girl, carrying primroses and rosebuds. Miss Ethel G. Voght played the wedding music. The ceremony took place before the fireplace, which was banked with palms and poinsettia.
