She loved the beach, music, wine and the company of friends and family. She was an inspiration to everyone she met and no one who knew her came away unaffected by her energy, her drive and her compassion for others.
Wendy was a great entrepreneur who worked in accounting, crewed on sailboats in the Virgin Islands and started the non-profit corporation, Cuisine For Healing, to provide those battling serious illnesses with healthy and healing foods.
Wendy was also an accomplished vocalist who sang and traveled with the University Christian Church Choir for many years. She was also heavily involved in the Kids Who Care musical theater organization where her children, Brittany and Cody Jenkins, regularly perform.
Wendy was her mom's champion in her mom's battle with cancer and she is an inspiration and hero to many in her own battle with the disease. Wendy was full of love and encouragement for others and she often showered her children, nieces and nephews, family and friends with cards and thoughtful gifts.
Wendy taught all of us how to truly live and succeed in any circumstances. She overcame much and was brave, positive and energetic all the way to the end.
We will all hold Wendy's spirit with us throughout our lives.
Wendy joins her mom, Mary Lois Wilkie; her grandparents, May and Elmer Henson; as well as her cousin, Sandra Lynn Tomlinson, in heaven.
Survivors: Wendy is survived by her children, Brittany Ann Jenkins and Richard Cody Jenkins; father; Richard "Dick" Chalmers Wilkie; her favorite brother, Richard Kyle Wilkie and his wife, Sylvia, of Pflugerville; sisters, Suzi Wilcox and her husband, Kenny Wilcox, of Greenbrier, Ark., and Linda Lois DuPont and her husband, Patrick DuPont.
