Miss Marilyn Joan Tyler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Tyler of Elmwood Park, and Charles W. Hughes Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. hughes Sr. of Oak Park, were married at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mest of Chadwick are the grandparents of the bridegroom.
Officiating at the ceremony in St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in River Forest was Father Truder.
The bride wore a champagne foile dress, styled with a lace bodice and overskirt. Her headpiece was a beaded pillbox with a finger-tip veil. She carried white orchids and stephanotis on a white mother of pearl prayer book.
Maid of honor was Miss Doris Lane of Elmwood Park, and bridesmaid was Mrs. Hook of Grays Lake, sister of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Mary Ann Hughes, sister of the bridegroom.
Best man was John Freeman of Oak Park, and groomsman was Larry Hughes, brother of the bride.
After the ceremony, a breakfast and reception was held.
On returning home from a wedding trip through the New England states, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes will live in Elmwood Park.
