FULTON MARKET HONORS VETERAN OF MAIL SERVICE
Christopher Callan, who was retired from the government service on Saturday, after thirty-three years in the Chicago postoffice, though he is "still as good as any man" if he is 68, isn't downhearted. Business firms of the Fulton market, whom he has served for so many years, have shown their appreciation for him, even if the government hasn't. They gave him $550 yesterday and the donor made a speech that nearly brought the tears to Callan's eye. "I'm glad to know I have friends," he said, "and that my services should so win their gratitude."
