George Voght [sic], a lad about fourteen years of age, while carelessly handling a revolver at his home on the Turnpike road in this county, accidentally shot himself in the thigh. Dr. M. S. Kittinger, of this city, was summoned, who removed the ball. Voght is a step-son of Joseph Sherman.

Jacob J. Vogt, a retired farmer and real estate dealer, and prominent citizen of Suspension Bridge, is a son of Martin and Elizabeth (Rudy) Vogt, and was born in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, February 3, 1812.  His grandfather, Martin Vogt, Sr., was a native of Switzerland, where he lived and died.  The Swiss people live in villages, around which are located their farms and vineyards, and in one of those pretty villages, named Frankindorf (meaning Franklin village), situated in a picturesque valley with the irregular outline of rugged mountains plainly visible in the purple distance, dwelt Martin Vogt.  He was a prominent man in the community and served for many years as mayor (schultheis) of his village.  He was largely engaged in grape culture and the manufacture of wine.  He married and had two sons: Martin (father), and Henry, who succeeded to his father's office and estate, and continued in office until his death.  Martin Vogt (father) was born in the canton of…

RAYMOND C. VOGHT
Among the native sons of Buffalo who have gained positions of prominence in the practice of law is Raymond C. Voght, whose offices are at 416 Brisbane building. He has conducted litigation of wide variety here and has acquired a clientele of large proportions. Likewise, in affairs of his home community, he has consistently manifested an active interest, and has lent his cooperation to many movements of merit. The birth of Raymond C. Voght occurred in Buffalo, November 18, 1890, his parents being Dr. Frank B. and Anna (Hirsch) Voght. The Doctor was born in Lockport, New York, May 19, 1867, and is now a practicing physician of Buffalo, having received his degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Niagara in 1889. He is a republican, and a member of the Episcopal Church. His wife is a native of Rochester, New York. In the paternal line the Voghts are descended from Revolutionary stock, from a Captain Bonnell, who served in the Continental Army.
